Overview
Dermal fillers are injectable gels, most commonly based on hyaluronic acid, used to restore volume, smooth lines and refine facial contours. At the clinic, filler treatments are performed by a licensed doctor after a consultation.
How long results last depends on the product used, the area treated and how your body responds, and is discussed with you at the consultation.
Areas we treat
- LipsVolume, shape and definition
- CheeksMid-face volume and lift
- TemplesHollowing that makes the face look tired
- ChinProjection and balance with the nose and jawline
- Under-eyeTear-trough hollows caused by volume loss
Who is it suitable for?
Adults who want to restore lost volume or refine a specific feature and who are in good general health. Fillers are not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, if you have an active skin infection in the area, or if you have a known allergy to the product's ingredients.
The doctor confirms suitability at the consultation.
What happens at the clinic
- ConsultationThe doctor examines your face, discusses your goals and explains which areas and product are appropriate.
- PreparationThe area is cleaned; a numbing cream may be applied.
- TreatmentThe filler is injected in small amounts and shaped by the doctor. Session length depends on the areas treated.
- AftercareYou leave the clinic the same day with written aftercare instructions.
Results and how long they last
Some change is usually visible immediately; the final result settles once any swelling subsides. How long the result lasts depends on the product, the area treated and your individual response. Your doctor will give you a realistic expectation at the consultation.
Results vary from person to person.
Recovery
Mild swelling, redness or small bruises at the injection points are common and usually settle over the following days. When you can return to your normal activities depends on the area treated and your doctor's advice.
You will receive written aftercare instructions, which typically include avoiding strenuous exercise, heat and pressure on the treated area for the period your doctor specifies.
Risks and side effects
As with any injectable treatment there are risks. All risks, and how they are managed, are discussed with you at the consultation before any treatment.
Common
Swelling, bruising, tenderness, temporary asymmetry.
Uncommon
Lumps, infection, allergic reaction.
Rare but serious
Injection into a blood vessel, which can affect skin or, very rarely, vision.

Does it hurt?
Most products contain a local anaesthetic and a numbing cream is applied first; most patients describe mild discomfort.
How much filler will I need?
The amount varies with the area, your goal and the doctor's assessment of your anatomy. This is decided at the consultation, not in advance.
Can fillers be dissolved?
Hyaluronic-acid fillers can be dissolved with an enzyme (hyaluronidase) if needed.
How long do fillers last?
It depends on the product, the treated area and your individual response. Your doctor will explain what to expect for your case.
Are fillers safe?
Dermal fillers are a medical procedure and carry risks, including the uncommon and rare complications listed above. No treatment is risk-free. Before treatment, your doctor assesses your suitability, explains the risks and benefits for your case, and obtains your informed consent.
Do I need a consultation first?
Yes. Every filler treatment at our clinic starts with a medical consultation.
